Hello Doctor and many thanks in advance.
I started to feel some additional symptoms - upset stomach off and on - stomach cramps and loose stool, very minor irritated throat (not sore, doesn't hurt) and for 2-3 days last week the palms of my hands were redder than normal and felt inflamed (this has sense subsided). I still have not had a fever, rash or have not felt ill. I do still have the discomfort in my neck and armpits. I have never had the redness of my hands happen before. I took an RNA and 4th Gen antibody test last week on Jan 24 when I was feeling some of the symptoms and both were negative. I should add that i am also currently on PEP.

A few questions:

Do these sensations sound like ARS?
Could these sensations be a side effect of the PEP?
Would the redness be a syphillis symptom? Would a blood test at this point rule out syphilis?

I’m sorry to see you back with continued unwarranted fears about HIV following your no risk exposures.  Your tests confirm that you do not have HIV.

Your symptoms are not due to HIV.

I have no idea if your symptoms are related to the PEP you did not need.

If the redness were due to syphilis a blood test would be positive.

You need to put your unwarranted fears aside.  There should be no need to return with further concerns.  EWH
