[Question #12639] Transmission risk

gave ts csw unprotected handjob and then put condom on csw and continued handjob a bit longer.  I didn’t notice if there was any precum or fluid on my hand, but then used the same hand to jerk off myself immediately without any washing.
1. Could gonorrhea, syphilis, trich, or chlamydia transmit from a hand with genital fluid on it to one’s own genitals?
2. I had a minor paper cut on my other hand am and not sure how much it could’ve come in contact with anything.  Does this pose any additional risk?

Welcome back to the Forum.   Thanks for your questions .  This was a no risk event.  No STIs are transmitted through receipt or taking part in masturbation, even when partners are infected and get each other's genital secretions on one another.  Similarly transfer of a partners' genital secretions to your own penis during the process of masturbation is a no risk event.  I see no need for concern and no need for testing.  Thus:

1. Could gonorrhea, syphilis, trich, or chlamydia transmit from a hand with genital fluid on it to one’s own genitals?
No, as stated above

2. I had a minor paper cut on my other hand am and not sure how much it could’ve come in contact with anything.  Does this pose any additional risk?
The presence of a cut, scrape or other lesion on your hand during the interactions you describe does not change the no risk nature of the event.

I hope this information is helpful.  Nothing to worry about, no reason to test.  EWH

Thank you Dr.
I hope it’s not too redundant but just for curiosity, why is it that “a partners' genital secretions to your own penis during the process of masturbation is a no risk event?”  Is it that STI die instantly?  Or is it more related to the actual content of the secretion or the mechanism required for transmission?

Multiple factors contribute including a loss of infectivity on exposure to the environment, that a lower concentration of organisms is transferred in comparison to a direct exposure and the skin of the penis is quite resistant to infection.

This fact has been borne out through observation of millions and millions of exposures.  EWH

Im just following up for more reassurance I guess.  The original event occurred this past Wed.  Now it is Sunday and I have a fever and minor sore throat.  My lymph nodes are not swollen and my child also was sick this past week, but do you think this could be std related to the original incident?

You are overreacting.  It is too soon for these symptoms to be the ARS.  I continue to be confident that you are not at risk for HIV.

As you know, this reply will complete this thread.  Please don’t worry.  EWH
