[Question #12661] STI RISK
|
Hello Doctors,
Unfortunately I find myself back after another sexual encounter. I am hoping you can help me out.
Over the weekend I visited a strip club. I have some questions on the events and if they put me at risk for any STI.
1. The female stripper inserted her fingers into her vagina, and with her vaginal fluid still on her fingers placed them into my mouth. This happened multiple times during the dance. Does this pose any sti risk?
2. There was a lot of body kissing and nipple sucking/licking. Does this pose any sti risk?
If you recommend testing which testing should I do? And how long after the exposure.
Thank you!

Welcome back to the Forum although I'm sorry you continue to worry about STI/HIV risks following virtually no risk encounters. Five months ago I told you "receipt of masturbation, even when a partner has genital secretions on their hands, is classified as an entirely no risk for acquisition of STI‘s including HIV by the WHO, the CDC, and experts in the field including us. There is no need for concern or testing following Receipt of masturbation even if a partner happens to be infected." That your partner masturbated herself (putting her fingers into her vagina) then put those fingers into your mouth is a no risk event no matter how many times it occurred. Thus
1. That your partner masturbated herself (putting her fingers into her vagina) then put those fingers into your mouth is a no risk event no matter how many times it occurred.
2. There is no risk for body kissing or sucking a partner's nipples.
Therefore, no testing for any STI, including HIV is needed. STIs, including HIV are transmitted ONLY through penetrative sexual contact and/or direct lesion contact. If no lesions were seen, there is no reason for concern. I realize that as per prior posts, despite being told that you did not need testing, you chose to do so. Obviously testing is alwaays a person choice but, from a medical perspective there is no need for testing.
Take a deep breath, relax and move forward without testing and without concern. EWH

Thank you for the quick reply Doctor. The answers you provide do indeed help me get a better understanding of STI’s. I have a few more questions then I will move on from this.
1. I am not sure if the female stripper had any lesions on her body as the room had dim lighting. If she did have lesions does the risk of hiv increase for me? Would it be from infected blood going into my mouth?
2. In a previous post of mine you mentioned URINE Gonorrhea/Chlamydia testing did not require for me to wait 14 days to obtain an accurate result. If I were to do a THORAT SWAB test for gon/chlam would the test be accurate after 5 days of exposure? Or is the window period different for a throat test?
3. Was I susceptible to HEP B from my exposure?

I want to urge you not to be impacted by a series of "what if" concerns. That is not productive
1. This is just the sort of "what if" concern I mentions. If this were the case, it would not change my assessment'
2. Tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia will provide accurate results for specimens taken from any site when the specimens are taken more than 3-4 days after a potenital exposure.
3. No
