[Question #12678] Molluscum bumo

Hi,
After receiving erotic massages over last year or so, I have noticed some some small bumps. One my scrotum and one on my shaft. They at first seem like the follicles that are there normally but these seem larger and I can feel they are like a bump bigger than anything that surrounds them. The one on my scrotum has been there for about a week and I discovered one on my shaft this morning. It’s very very small. I don’t suspect warts, but maybe Molluscum? It could be an enlarged follicle area, but it’s not something I’ve gotten before and unusual I should see 2 of them in a week. What are the changes of the getting Molluscum from receiving handjobs at massages? No rubbing of genital areas ever happened, just mainly happy endings. Also if I had Molluscum as a kid would I have immunity? I am an otherwise fit and healthy person.

Welcome back to the forum. However, looking back at your previous question a month ago, we addressed the absence of STI risk from your erotic massages. But even more important, we cannot diagnose anything. From your description, I very much doubt you have molluscum contagiosum. And yes, if you had MC as a child you would at least be resistant to a new infection, maybe entirely immune. But in any case, the vast majority of genital skin problems and bumps are not STIs of any kind. (I have a book titled Genital Dermatology Atlas. As the name implies, it is filled with photos of genital skin problems with brief discussions of each condition. Of its total 300 pages, all STIs are covered in 15 pages -- an indication of the small chance any particular problem is an STI.
If the bumps persist, if others appear, or if you otherwise remain concerned, see your doctor for what probably would be a reassuring examination. Or for definitely expert care, consider seeing a dermatologist. In the meantime, I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

So can I ask is MC commonly seen with erotic massages? The bump on my shaft seems like pearly. When I look at it closely it resembles a larger follicle spot that is around it, but it’s larger to the touch. And I can feel the bump more than the other normal spots. Would a MC or wart resemble this? I know I’m probably looking to into this too much and freaking. Also is it common for someone my age, 44 to get MC? I read it something that is not common in older people. What do you think?

I've never heard of MC acquired by massage, erotic or otherwise. And MC indeed is rare at your age. Beyond that, all I can do is suggest (again) seeing a health care provider, ideally a dermatologist, in person for diagnosis.---
