[Question #12681] Condom Mistake STD's or HIV

Thank you in advance for all the good you do on this board.

I had a random Male to Male encounter putting a condom on incorrectly for 3-5 seconds then I placed it correctly. Foolishly I did not replace the condom. Could I get STD’S or HIV if the man had precum or ejaculate prior to me placing the condom on his penis? This was oral sex only.

Welcome to the Forum.  thanks for your questions.   I'm not sure what you mean by "incorrectly".  If you put the condom on one way, then took it off, turned it inside out, then put it on again I suppose there might be a theoretical risk of being infected but I would put the actual risk as virtually zero.  Remember, most people do not have STIs, most single encounters with infected partners do not lead to infection, and oral sex is the lowest risk of penetrative sexual encounter.  If I were you I would not worry at all but if you are concerned, realistically the only STI you would need to test for would be gonorrhea and you could do that with a urine test any time more than 3-4 days after the encounter.  Personally, I would not even bother to test unless symptoms develop which I think is unlikely.  EWH---
