Hi Dr, Im 34 yo male living in dubai. On 9th Feb imet a hungarian girl in a club in barcelona and we went home together. We started doing foreplay. I was penetrating her for 20 mins but with both out clothes on im in my briefs and she wearing jeans.Next day i found top of my penis shaft sth like a crust due to the friction with the clothes.8 days later i had a very bad flu with fever cough, sore throat and headache, phlem and 1 day of runny nose. I lost smell and taste for a day but i tested -ve for covid. I’m worried about hiv , specially that part of my penis was injured and formed a crust which could be a susceptible area for virus to transmit.

Is this a completely risk free or do i need to test ?

Welcome back to the Forum.  I presume from your description that because you both had cloths on (underwear for you. jeans for her) that there was friction present while you had sex (I'm trying to visualize your having sex with a woman who still has her jeans on- she must have pulled them nearly off or there must have been a lot of friction).  The crust you describe certainly does sound like the result of friction.  Your flu-like symptoms began a bit soon to be HIV.  Since your intercourse was unprotected however, there is a very slight chance that you were exposed to HIV.  The easiest way to prove that your symptoms were NOT the ARS would be to get a test.  If your test is negative which is the result I anticipate, you will have proven that you symptoms were not due to HIV.  When persons have the ARS, they are always positive and remain so from then on.  EWH---

Hi Dr,
Thank you for your response, i want to clarify that i havent  taken my briefs off and she never took her jeans off. It was more of rubbing myself over her with very slight penetration with the clothes on. I didnt have unprotected sex with her. Do you still think i need to get tested ? I have read on this forum that clothes act as a barrier for STIs right ?
Also does this kind of flu i mentioned match with the ARS (having congested and runny nose) ?

Thank you for the clarification. If your underwear remained on and your penis did not enter her without clothing between the two of you, then this was an entirely no risk event and you can attribute the irritated area on your penis to the friction of rubbing with your clothes on.  HIV and other STDs are not transmitted through clothing, even when that clothing becomes wet with genital secretions. Given your clarification, I see no reason for concern and no reason for testing. The symptoms you experienced were certainly not the ARS. EWH.---

Thank you doctor. One more question please. After we finished i was fingering her and im not sure if i put my hands on my penis after. Given that my penis was wounded from the friction would i be at risk if i hold my penis with the same hand i fingered her with ?

There is no risk of HIV or other STI‘s from using the same hand that you use to masturbate her to touch your own penis. The presence of the irritation on your penis does not change this. Please don’t worry.

As you know, we provide up to three responses to each clients questions. This is my third response and for that reason the thread will be closed now. Please don’t worry. There is no reason for concern and no reason for testing. EWH.
