[Question #12706] Possible std exposure

I had sex msw protected vaginal a couple days later I got extremely sick I went and got tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomonas all negative I got tested for hiv and syphilis at 5 months 6 months and 8months following that exposure they were negative i feel sick still its been 9 months idk what I caught from that I been to the doctor ran several test cbc ana screen thyroid test hep b and c all negative or normal please help im still having symptoms

Welcome to our forum. Thank you for your questions. I’ll be glad to comment and hope that you will find my reassurance is comforting. The testing you have performed absolutely and conclusively rules out the possibility of HIV, syphilis, or the other STIs that you tested for. I suspect that the symptoms you describe, beginning soon after your exposure, were coincidental. I’m pleased to hear that you were working with your doctor to try to sort out the origin of these continuing symptoms. I am confident they are not due to an STI including HIV acquired in the encounter that you describe.

Sorry, accidentally hit submit before I finished your response. I wanted to add that currently available tests for HIV, syphilis, and other STI‘s are highly reliable and had you been infected, would’ve been positive. The fact that you have tested on several occasions with negative results at times when the results are reliable is strong evidence that you were not infected. EWH.---
