[Question #12739] Protected

Had protected sex with two strippers, also protected oral but I'm a bit heavy and my stomach and I imagine groin thigh area probably touched theirs I'm like 80% sure the condom was as far down as it can go it's always possible for it to slide up a little bit but even though I always have protected sex it's always the "what if my testicles touched their vagina does that mean I'm probably gonna get hsv2" or am I gonna mistake kick itch or a new outbreak of some rash and odds are I'm probably good however they were a bit older and I don't know just how protected my leg area is from possible infections

If you believe that 95/100 nothing will happen I can accept that but if the extra area of touch drops that down considerably please let me know so I can get looked at. Thank you

Welcome to the Forum.  Thanks for your questions.  I'll be glad to comment.  Most people, even most CSWs do not have STIs and even most single exposures to infected partners do not lead to infection.  Further, in your case. condom protected sex is safe sex and further reduces any risk for infection.  Contact with a partner's thighs or legs is a virtually no risk event- herpes and other STIs are very, very rare in that location.  Your risk for any STI, including herpes is quite low and not something I would worry about unless you develop a new rash or lesions.  Should that occur, it's time to seek evaluation.  EWH---

How rare? Any example will work, rare can mean 1 out of 10 or it can mean 1 out of 100

I don't expect you to be a genie but I am to continue to sleep with other people I am under the assumption I am practicing safe sex but at the end of the day what does a condom do? It stops my private parts from touching someone elses private parts so any area that could be open to exposure can make me think it's a risk and I'm aware it is, I'm an adult I understand what I'm doing but I'm also going off the presumption that if I am a smart individual and cover up that I will for the most part worry free for skin to skin stds, mainly syphilis and herpes.

Thank you for having this forum to begin with btw Im sure it's exhausting reassuring people but we don't have the reassurance and years of experience so a little skin on skin here and there makes me think "of it can occur here then why not here?" This is my last question I won't respond again but I'm trying to be logical and understand it from YOUR perspective but you gotta get down to my level, well you obviously don't ever have to but I would appreciate it. All the best and thanks again guys you guys are the best as always

The risk of acquiring an STI from the encounters you describe above is 1% of less considering the factors I mentioned above- i.e. condoms, single encounters, most CSWs do not have STIs. etc..  That said, if you are looking for guarantees, you are in the wrong place.  We are here to provide data and assist in self assessment of persons worried about their sexual health and STI risk.  The vast majority of STIs are transmitted in settings where the penis is in direct contact with the site of infection, most often a mucosal surface and NOT intact skin such as might be found on the scrotum, legs, stomach, etc.  Nor are STIs transmitted through transfer of infected secretions from person-to-person on someone's hands.

I would encourage you to continue to pursue condom-protected sex, wearing the condom from start to finish.  I hope the information I have provided is helpful.

Should you need it or if anything is unclear, you have one follow-up remaining.  EWH

My final question is let's say this was a regular habit (it isn't in fact I'm quite drunk and said no to all strippers prior to receiving more drinks paid for by other guys at the bar and one by a stripper but I've been doing keto so no sugary drinks due months lol anyways obviously not the point other than I don't even remember typing that question outside of " you guys are the best" is kind of idk angering. Regardless do you have client's that regularly ( at east one a month) that very often get any infections from workers or strippers or even just new dates you met online

I guess what asking is..

Nothing is 100% certainly most of the time, but I think there is a big misconception about how any area that theoretically isn't covered or protected by a condom is instantly as a moderate to high risk of infection which isn't the case so that means they work and my apologies for the repeated questions I've been awake for 48 hours and was given alcohol, a lot of it so my fault, gotta pay attention in the future but thank you for your expertise and dealing with thousands of us that have the same fear every time

All the best Dr Hook and thanks for educating me and thousands of others past our pseudoscience and bro science nonsense.

You can ignore the last one, my final question is that with a 1% chance of happening and in the unlikely way it would occur if something ever did like syphilis or herpes the signs would not show up on my oenis correct? If it was covered pretty much all the to the base if anything was to show up it would on the small area at the base that moves slightly or the surrounding area right? So any moment I think hey there's something here or something there if it's not in the theoretical area where there wasn't coverage can I safely ignore that?

If the penis is covered by a condom, signs of infection would not show up there but at a site of direct contact.  You need not worry about penile lesions as long as you wore a condom.

As you know, we provide up to 3 responses to each clients questions.  This thread is now complete and will be closed.  EWH
