Hi Dr,

Hope you are doing well.

I am a gay male and recently met someone. We had deep kisses and masturbated. He also rimmed me and fingered me .

I asked him about testing , he said he does it once a year and only indulges in safe sex .

We did Not have any anal sex nor any mouth to penis contact either ways.

The next day i felt a bit sore in the rectum area. I’m a bit worried about the big risk from kissing rimming and fingering .

There are different views on the internet and i’m confused on the risk . Also a bit worried. Is it risky ? Would you advise pep ?

Please advise . Thanks

Welcome back to the Forum.  Good work on asking your partner about his status and testing history.  The information he provided makes this a very low risk encounter.

In Addison, You already know there is no risk from kissing.  Similarly, there is no risk for HIV from being rimmed or participating in mutual masturbation, even if a partner’s genital secretions got on you.  No risk and certainly no need for PEP.  EWH

Hi Dr,

Thanks for the reply . I am a bit confused , the first para you said low risk and then you said no risk from kissing or rimming . He also fingered me .

So i am not at risk from any of these activities, assuming he had Hiv ? Thanks
