No.  The reliability of HIV tests are NOT changed by the presence of other infections such as STIs or prostatitis.  They are also not changed by any medications you might be taking.  EWH---

Thanks for the quick reply:
I will follow up and conclude by asking:

1) Please confirm your answer to my initial question is valid also for type of test  ''HIV COMBO'' - the one that tests for the HiV 1 and 2 antibodies and P24 antigen for HIV 1? (that the reliability of the results is NOT changed by the presence of other infections such as STIs or prostatitis.  They are also not changed by any medications I might be taking).

2) Does having prostatitis, or any other STI’S or UTI’S can affect the reliability of these follow tests : Chlamydia(urine), Gonorrhea(urine), Hep c, Hep b and syphilis test

Just trying to clear my mind on this and move on. Thanks and good day

I will just use my last right for a reply to clarify your answer for my question #2

I asked : Does having prostatitis, or any other STI’S or UTI’S can affect the reliability of these follow tests : Chlamydia(urine), Gonorrhea(urine), Hep c, Hep b and syphilis test

But you answered : correct. no effect.
I understand the second part of your answer ‘’ no effect’’ but What the first part of your answer mean by ‘’correct ‘’?
Don’t want to be repetitive but just wanted to clarify and I am sure that it will help others who will look up the question.
Kind regards and thank for your time.

It means that, as implied by your question, the presence of UTI, STI or prostatitis would not have a negative effect on the reliability of you tests.  Have confidence in the result.

This completes this thread.  Please don't worry.   EWH
