[Question #12777] Risks involving massage
5 months ago
|
Hello Drs, I just had a question regarding massages. I was nude while receiving a massage, there was no sexual contact involved at all, she did not touch my penis, scrotum or anus, although she did massage a little bit inside my glutes but not on or near the rectum. Do regular massages put you at risk for any type of STD or HIV? I was offered a happy ending at the end of the massage, which I declined, so that had me wondering if she was masturbating other customers, would that put me at risk of anything if she provided me with a regular massage? My other question is if having pimples posses any risks, I did have a couple pimples on my back, one of which looked like it was recently popped but I don’t know exactly when. It was not bleeding during or after the massage. Does that put me at any risk of anything? I know it seems like a silly question, but I am a very anxious person and would just like some feedback from experts. Thank you in advance.

This is a repetitive question that was answered in your two previous discussions with Dr. Hook; or at least the answers are obvious from his replies. You are seriously overthinking all this. There has never been a known case of HIV transmitted by massage, regardless of the details you ask about, and few other STI transmissions either.
---
"Do regular massages put you at risk for any type of STD or HIV?" No, regardless of massages with previous clients. Your pimples make no difference.
Please do your best to understand and accept the reasoned, science based replies you have had, and ignore any further "what if", "yes but", or "could I be the exception" sorts of thoughts. Also please note the forum policy against repeated questions, especially when anxiety driven. This must be your last forum question about this or any such events in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

I’m sorry if it seemed like a repetitive question. This question was based off of a new experience that occurred yesterday. I was just seeking feedback from an expert, the pimples were worrying me. Thank you for the response.

Obviously the previous replies are valid for any and all similar exposures. It should not be necessary to ask again about every such event. In fact, as stated above, you may not do so. Repeated questions with obvious answers are deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee; that will happen for any new questions in the future about such events. ---

I was told to reply here by Dr.Hunter.
I do have a lot of anxiety regarding diseases. I am just making sure that I was not at risk or would require to do follow up testing since I could have potentially touched dried blood. My main worry comes from the fact that i do not know who’s blood it was. But as I stated before it was dry blood, and I had no cuts on my hand. Sorry, I’m a a very anxious person.

Nobody has ever acquired HIV by contact with blood in the environment, wet or dry. That includes potential blood exposures with sharp instruments, except those used for intentional self injection after someone else has used the same needle. And regardless of cuts on the hand or other possibly exposed body sites.

Repetitive similar questions are not permitted, especially when anxiety driven. And we are not a site for repeated questions of the same type, regardless of the desire for reassurance in the face of anxieties about HIV or other STIs. This being your third (not counting your most recent question, deleted), it must be your last about events that are widely known to be risk free. Excessive questions may be deleted without reply and without refund of the positing fee. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism; repeated answers to such questions often prolong anxiety rather than relieving it; and the sponsor does not wish to collect fees for questions with obvious answers. In addition, such h questions have limited education value for other readers, one of the forum's goals. Thank you for your understanding.
That concludes this thread. You will be credited for the newly deleted thread, but not after this. I do hope the discussions have helped move a little bit away from your unreasonable fears. Best wishes and stay safe.
