[Question #12810] HIV 2 ARS and 4th gen tests

Hi doctors, sorry you see me back. I will be super brief I promise.

Only one question: You have said multiple times that if somebody has true, specific ARS symptoms, a 4th gen test will ALWAYS be positive, regardless of time since exposure. Is this the case for BOTH the HIV-1 and HIV-2

(I had multiple negative PCR’s for HIV-1 and also several 4th gen tests, including one yesterday, at 32,5 days since exposure, and this all after some symptoms, so want to check about HIV-2… Again, I’m particularly worried about HIV-2 even if it is not that common where I live).

As a side note - could you please, very kindly, answer to a fellow user’s questions from some days ago called ANOTHER HIV ORAL, where he asks about PrEP and its I pact in tests? We would all learn from that answer if yours. Thanks as EVER !!!

Your tests were conclusive for HIV2 as well as HIV1.

Nobody should be looking at other users' threads for answers to their own questions. Every case is unique and it's often not possible to safely extrapolate other answers to their own situation.

You have been warned about repeated anxiety driven questions. There will be no more discussion here, and as you were warned last time, any new questions similar to your previous eight will be deleted without even this much reply as this time and your previous question.
