Dears i have being reading here and the old medhelp forum from years. So im a married men from Spain that the last 3 have being With probably 30 trans. I have never done penetrative sex. I have gave condom protected oral always and receive non protected oral probably twice for less than a minute each. Frottage kissing an mutual masturbation i stop any contact with anyone since last august. In this time i havent see ant discharge or any symtomp at all.
I have perfom normal relations with my wife is true that she has some burning pee like four times and after the act she sometime bleed but in a timeframe of 12 hours from the act , and no other symptom. Twice has take fosfomicine with no testing due a Dr friend of her and symptomps cleared. Now last thusrday we where together at noon and like 10 hours later she was complaining from swollen and pain in left side of her lower belly (uterus área) and burning pee. she took fosfomicine for burning pee and the burning was gone. But on saturday she went to urgencies due the inflamation on the belly and some dysturia she also state that she has some transparent flux with smell of semen coming out... They told her that she has pdi (with no test) and that she need to take and appointment with her gyno because this looks like clamydia or gonhorrea...of course this drives to discussion between us... Based on the described she could have pdi and if so It could be by clamydia or gono? I have being always really strict on safe sex... And im scare to have an asymtomatic clamydia or gono and past to her... Is also true that pain got better if she rest... But still the are is very inflammated. Thanks and i Hope i have being clear i tried my best english

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your questions and your confidence in our service. I'll be glad to comment, Your practice of safe, condom protected sex greatly reduces the likelihood of having any STI although following receipt of unprotected oral sex there is a very small chance that you might have acquired gonorrhea or chlamydia. If you had one of these infections, it is more likely than not that you would have developed symptoms, which apparently you have not, or the infections might have resolved even without therapy. It is quite unlikely that you are infected but testing would be the only way to determine if an infection is present.
Your wife's symptoms could be due to an STI on a long list of other GYN problems. Was she tested for STIs when she was seen at urgent care? Was she started on antibiotics? Was a pelvic examination in which the doctor felt into her vagina performed? PID can be mimicked by many other processes. Your wife does need to be seen by her GYN, particularly if her lower abdominal discomfort is continuing. The sooner she is seen, the better for her. The chances that this is an STI are low but not zero. EWH

Hi Dr. Thanks for the fast response.
Commenting on your questions:
Was she tested for STIs when she was seen at urgent care? No she was not tested. Only perfomed an urinecultive and no infection showed
Was she started on antibiotics? She did fosfomicine before the urgent care visit for the burning pee.
Was a pelvic examination in which the doctor felt into her vagina performed? No It was not performed.
Today she is not complaining regarding peeing and regardint the pain she is saying that is focused on the left side and felt like a palpitation.. something similar like a conduct is hurt...
Is possible that she got an sti in this 3 years having relacions with me and no Symptom neither?
Also the two times i got oral sex It was maybe 10 sec each

Thanks for the additional information. The likelihood that you gave her an STI is very low. There are many other things that could cause her symptoms. For your information, PID may be caused by non-STI bacteria. Your wife needs to see her GYN. The likelihood that you have given her an STI, based on what you have said it very low.
One follow up remaining. EWH

Hi Dr.
So my wife went to the GYN. Basically she told her that the pain in the area was more effect for chafing during sex than other thing. She saw a good healthy uterus, no STI test performed. Normal anual cytology performed.
Basically my wife due age, has a drop of the organs (so they are lower than they use to) and during sex if theres not enough lubrication it could happen that the chafing impact create this burning pee and this inflammation of the area.
The gyn saw a normal vaginal discharges and the same normal uterus.
Based on that and based that i have never had any symptom i can put my mind in easy correct? I assume that the cytology will come back clean.
Anyway thank you so much for your support and for the excellent work you are doing here to address questions and a peace of mind of people.

Thank you for the additional follow up information. I’m glad that she saw her gynecologist and that you have received an answer to your questions. Given the fact that you were asymptomatic and that you have an alternate explanation, I would encourage you to accept this and move forward without continuing concern.
As you know, this is my third response and for that reason, the thread will now be closed. I hope the information I have provided has been helpful. EWH.
