I am in a relationship with a Philippine girl for around 7 months, she is not sex worker she is good girl working with me in Dubai.she admit that her last sexual activity was one year ago with her Ex boyfriend in Philippines .since we start our relationship I am sure she was very loyal to me(no one in her life except me)..After more than 4 months from our first unprotected sexual relationship she did the residency visa test two times between them around 2 weeks as she join new job and she was negative in the two times and she got the visa.
what is worrying me is that after around 2 months from our last sexual activities I got too much pain at the back of my neck going down to my shoulders and this pain is continue for more than month till now , secondly after 3 months from also last activity I got pain in my stomach continues for almost 5 days till now I feel like having stone in my stomach , I don’t have diarrhea it is just stomach pain
I did my regular CBC two times during the last month and I get worry from lymphocytes values as in my previous tests it was in between 32% to 39 % but the last value 2 values was 39.3 % and the last one is 42.2% which is 2.2 % than the normal which is 40%
I have few questions please
1-Neck and shoulders pain after around 2 months is a symptom of HIV?
2-stomach pain after 3 months is a symptoms of HIV ?
3-Is the 2.2 % above the normal lymphocytes range which is 40% sign for HIV after 3 months from last activity?
4-My internal medicine doctor told me that this 2% increase is due to the stomach pain which may be caused by any bacteria, Is this correct?
5-Do I need to do HIV test ?, actually I don’t want but want to know your opinion
Thank you

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your questions. I see little reason for you to be worried about HIV. Your partner is very low risk. She has had few partners and Because she was tested for her visa, you know that she does not have HIV. The symptoms you describe do not suggest HIV. In answer to your specific questions:
1. Neck and shoulder pain are not symptoms of HIV. There are many other possible causes including overuse, strain, and stress.
2. Similarly, stomach pain does not suggest HIV. Like for your neck and back pain, there are many other causes but HIV is not one of them.
3. Lymphocyte counts fluctuate greatly from day to day. The change in your lymphocyte count is not worrisome.
4. It certainly is a possibility
5. From what you describe, I see no medical reason for concern and no reason for testing.
I hope this perspective helps. Please don’t worry. EWH

Thank you Doc. Yes you are right my partner is 29 years old and she had only two relationship her Ex husband and Ex boyfriend.I am her third relationship in her life and I am sure that she is very loyal to me and yes you are right she did two test during our relationship to renew the visa and both comes negative.
My problem is always bad idea and thoughts come to my mind with any even minor sickness such as runny noise or any minor things that time I always think that it can be because of infected HIV from her also I read answer to DOC.HHH that early infection of HIv may cause slightly increase in lymphocytes
I have some may be repeated questions just for confirmation. please confirm
1-Neckband shoulders pain are not symptoms of HIv .
2-Stomach pain is not symptoms of HIv
3-No symptoms for HIV start after 2 and 3 month and. Continue for one months
4-The increase of lymphocytes after 3 months from last sexual activity by 2.2% over the normal range is not a sign for HIV.
5-This 2.2 % may be because of my stomach pain.
Thank you for your patience

I'm sorry I missed your follow-up questions although they are entirely repetitive and thus a waste of your time. The answers will not change.
1-Neckband shoulders pain are not symptoms of HIv .
Correct
2-Stomach pain is not symptoms of HIv
Correct
3-No symptoms for HIV start after 2 and 3 month and. Continue for one months
Correct
4-The increase of lymphocytes after 3 months from last sexual activity by 2.2% over the normal range is not a sign for HIV.
Correct
5-This 2.2 % may be because of my stomach pain.
The insignificant increase in the proportion of lymphocytes may be normal day-to-day variation. Testing of this sort does not help to diagnosis stomach pain.
Youhave one follow-up remaining. I suggest you talk with your doctor about your symptoms- they are not due to HIV or any other STI. EWH

Thank you so much Doc. Edward . This is my last question in the thread,
I wish Professor HHH answer my question to get another assessment. for the full post.
I read answer for Doc.H that the newly infection oh HIV slightly elevates the lymphocytes
The normal range of lymphocytes in my lab is 20-40%. My results after 42.2%
My questions:
Is this extra 2.2 % could be because of HIV infection.
The maximum value I got before this relation was 39% now 42.2%
What could be the possible reason for this increase

Hello professor
I did not got answer for my final question and I would like to add that last week I did Colonoscopy to find out the reason of the stomach pain. The report shows the following comments
1-Anal canal : Internal Hemorrhoids
2-Rectum:few erosions.Biopsy taken for H-P-E
3-lleum:few small ulcers noted.Biopsy taken for H-P-E
4-Proctitis : non specific
I hope I can get answers to my questions
1-Are these for comments has relation with HIV infection and symptoms.
2-If not hiv symptoms, are these comments considered dangerous results
3-Is the 2% increase in lymphocytes more than the normal range is a due to these 4 comments.
Thank you

Final Responses. Dr. Handsfield will not be responding. There is no need. Dr. Handsfield and I have worked together for over 40 years and we never differ in the facts of our responses although our verbal styles differ.
Final responses to your largely repetitive questions. The answers are not going to change.
1. Specimens from your colonoscopy showed erosions but not what caused the erosions. The biopsies have been sent for microscopic examination which may help to determine the diagnosis. Nothing in your colonoscopy results suggests HIV or any other STI.
2. You will need to wait for test results to interpret the meaning of the findings. At that time you should ask these questions of your doctor who did the tests. I'm surprised results are not back yet.
3. As I've said before, lymphocyte levels vary and when they are elevated are a non-specific finding. Your minimally elevated lymphocyte level DOES NOT suggest HIV and may be related to the abnormalities seen on your colonoscopy. Again, I suggest you speak with your doctor about this when your results are back
We provide up to 3 response to each client's questions. This is my 3rd response. There will be no further responses although I will leave the thread open in the hope that you will share the results of the bipsies taken at your colonoscopy. EWH
