[Question #12844] Risk from Short Oral

Dear Doctor,
I am a 29 old married guy and I keep away myself now from any risky sexual events. My last test was for HIV negative and since that they I never did oral, vaginal or anal sexual event.
Today I met a female friend of mine which is 40 years old woman who lives in UK but she is from Romania, I know she is not sexually active and she told me that she had a relationship with a man about 6 months and they always did protected sex, maybe a few times unprotected.
We only agreed for handjob because I do not want anything else, here is the point before I ejaculate she put my penis to her mouth and suck head a few seconds. Now I am feeling uncorfatable, should I worry about it? Thanks a lot for your all support.

Welcome to our Forum.  Thanks for your questions and your confidence in our service.  I'll be happy to make some comments.

At the present time there is virtually no risk from the short exposure that you describe.  I would not worry and see no medical reason to seek testing.

I would add that it sounds like you and this woman have good communications, something that many people do not when it comes to sexual activity.  It also sounds like you may see her again.  If that is the case, it might be reassuring if you both go to get tested together.  Then when you both have negative tests as I anticipate you will, if your sexual interactions progress, you can do so with confidence.

I hope these suggestions are helpful.  Again, in terms of the exposure you describe, I see no need for testing.  EWH

Dear Mr. Hook,
Thank you very much for your detailed answer.
I am really sorry to bother you again, I had enough confident to talk with her and she told me she tested for STDs about a month ago and she is clear, no sexual event after that.
I do not think she tell me a lie there is no reason for that, so I can close that case, right?
Thank you so much for your response in advance and wish you have a great weekend ahead.

Congratulations on asking.  That she was tested relatively recently should further increase your confidence that the encounter you described did not put you at risk for acquistion of an STI.  I would not be worried and would move forward.  EWH---
