[Question #12846] Towel sharing sti risk

Hi,
I instinctively feel that this is a very small risk event which I should not be concerned about but just wanted to be sure. I had a sir of happy ending with a CSW. There was no oral or vaginal sex involved. However, when I was leaving the shower, I accidentally used her towel to wipe myself. I think she used the towel 45-60 min. ago. My understanding is that there is no risk for HIV,  gonorrhea and chlamydia. Is there any risk of HSV-2 or HPV. I am vaccinated against HPV and I already am positive for HSV-1. I think the risk should be like a million to one but just wanted to doublecheck with you.

There is no meaningful risk of acquiring any STI from sharing a towel that someone with an infection had used before you.  I would have no concerns.  I see no need for testing.  EWH---

Thank you very much. This puts my mind at ease. I don't think this is your specialty, but do you know if there is any meaningful risk for other diseases? Or should I consult a dermatologist?

I would have no concerns whatsoever.  As I understand it you have no signs of symptoms.  Should you develop a rash or other symptoms you might wish to seek care.  Otherwise I see no reason for concern.  I think you are worrying unnecessarily.   EWH---
