[Question #12848] HSV2 and oral sex
|
I have HSV2, my partner does not have HSV. Is it correct that the HSV2 virus is NOT located in my mouth or on the skin of my upper chest? Wondering if it is safe for me to perform oral sex on him, and for him to take my nipples into his mouth. I take daily Valacyclovir for suppression. Thank you.

HSV 2 is very rarely oral and the skin of the upper chest, no.

I think it is safe to assume that your infection is genital, with 95% certainty. It is safe for him to take your nipples in his mouth, yes
And for you to give him oral sex. I don't know your HSV 1 status so I can't say that except as it applies to HSV 2.

Thank you so much for your answer. I realized I'm not sure what "Even more so with daily suppression" refers to: is it that the nipple play and oral sex are more safe, or that the infection is more likely genital? Thanks very much for your time.

I have no idea what I was thinking with that comment about suppression! I removed it. I think I meant transmission is very unlikely, even more so if you are on daily suppression
HSV 2 is very likely genital, yes
