[Question #12852] Risk of getting HSV2 from a partner(follow up)

I recently asked a few questions regarding genital HSV2 transmission from my female partner, I just had a few follow up questions. These questions assume there is no active/known outbreak:
1. I have only used my hands to touch my partner's genitals as you previously assured me there was no risk of transmission this way. Do you recommend getting a screening for HSV2 for myself before we engage in intercourse? I was previously tested about 7 years ago and was negative for HSV1 and HSV2. Since then, I've had 5 sexual partners. I don't know their status, but have no reason to believe they were positive.
2. Is the skin in the genital area susceptible to transmission, even if there is no break in the skin and a condom is used?
3. If we are both naked and she straddles my leg, making contact with her genitals to my thigh, would this cause risk for transmission?
4. If I spoon my partner while we are both naked and my genitals contact her butt or vagina, would this be a risk for transmission?
5. Do you recommend dental dams or other specific protective devices for oral sex?
I'm an anxious person by nature, so I apologize if some of my questions sound stupid. I just want to be safe and compassionate towards my partner, who seems like a real gem.

That's really up to you.   You could, but be aware of false positives.  If you do test, use LabCorp.  They have a better test now than Quest.

2. Is the skin in the genital area susceptible to transmission, even if there is no break in the skin and a condom is used?
The skin of the penis is vulnerable because it is so think, but a condom reduces transmission from females to males by 65% so a great tool  Combine that with antiviral medication daily for her and you are quite safe indeed.

3. If we are both naked and she straddles my leg, making contact with her genitals to my thigh, would this cause risk for transmission?
No, the skin of the thigh is too thick for transmission, assuming it is intact.

4. If I spoon my partner while we are both naked and my genitals contact her butt or vagina, would this be a risk for transmission?
Butt, no, vagina possibly

5. Do you recommend dental dams or other specific protective devices for oral sex?
You could do that yes.  There are also special panties for this purpose.

You're fine, it is OK to ask any questions that you have here.
