[Question #12854] Ingrown hair or herpes

Over 30 days ago had protected sex with 2 strippers, whole penis was covered but the base of where my pubic area and penis meet still is uncovered how vulnerable is that area?

I had inflamed hair folliculitis that the doctors here thought were probably folliculitis and I never got what appeared to be any ulcers however 2-3 days ago after a weekend with my partner where we had alot of sex when I got out of the shower I noticed a huge pimple underneath my pubic area (same area before that ended up being nothing with a negative urine test results for whatever that is worth) and it was leaking white pus and had a hair coming out of it, didn't seem to have any other pimples or ulcers near it and its raised and has a hard lump underneath it and I was plucking hairs from that area 30 days ago to see my skin better so I'm wondering if it's ingrown hair and today after those 2 days where the white pus leaked I noticed another tiny white dot on it and maybe some slight pain

Also 2 days ago I had another protected sex encounter with a stripper and while I'm told not to worry because the chances are pretty high that I'm ok and not infected I can't help but wonder how protected this area is since it touches their bare skin and mine as well. Hsv symptoms can't show within 2 days correct and it wouldn't show up also 30 days later correct? Hsv-2 usually doesn't leak white pus does it?

Not an additional pimple next to it I mean there was the pimple then after that one popped it was healing very quickly and didn't look weird but now another small head on the spot may be forming. Not two different pimples just wanted to clarify.

I imagine sex just isn't for me because I seem to be unable to trust the effectiveness of condoms but I can't help but to see so much area around the penis that isn't protected and see it as taking just as much of a risk as not wearing protection ( just for the areas without a condom like scrotum or pubic area just left or just right of the penis)  is this true or is the pubic area at the base of the penis less likely for a new hsv infection to appear and be infected with

It is true that there are uncovered areas of the penis, but condoms do reduce transmission of HSV from women to men by 65% so they are useful, though not perfect.
Generally speaking, herpes lesions don't present as a big pimple with pus in it.  It presents as multiple smaller water blisters on a red base that pop, ulcerate and scab.  Yours sounds more like folliculitis, an inflamed hair follicle.  An opinion from a provider in person is way better than my opinion over the internet, to be honest.
HSV symptoms normally show up 2-10 days after a concerning sexual encounter.

Usually my doctor is booked for quite awhile so I got to urgent cares but last time I didn't have any bumps or open sores just red hair follicles and he immediately went yeah that could be hsv 2 take a urine test, I said aren't those unreliable for herpes? and he said yes if you acquired it in the past and are asymptomatic but if you have an active outbreak it will show up on a test so I said sure, I have another appointment soon

What are the transmission rates per sexual encounter?

Are the transmission rates based on someone who is at risk from having unprotected sex with another person with an active outbreak or do they combine it all together of everyone who has hsv-2 period ya know, active outbreak/ shedding/ dormant and put all of that into one statistic for the risks of unprotected sex with a person that has hsv-2 and not when a person is at their most at risk stage, I hope I'm making sense

How long does the ulcerate stage typically last? Like when the sores are open before healing

Some people are asymptomatic but generally speaking if you are a person who is having an outbreak then noticable pain is typical yes?

They don't feel like pea sized hard bumps most of the time? You said small clusters clear fluid no like lump underneath the skin correct?

That's it for me thank you for your time

We don't have stats on transmission rates per intercourse.
Ulcers usually are there for a few days to a week
Most people have some discomfort with HSV outbreaks yes.
They do not feel like hard bumps under the surface of the skin, no.
