[Question #12887] Testing Question

In response to the original question #12809. I wanted to give you an update and thank you again for your help. I should have listened to you from the geico but anxiety ruled. I had a negative oraquick prior to pep for baseline. No prior risk exposure for almost 7 years due to long term negative partner. I had a Negative NAT RNA test at 10 days post exposure. Negative 4th gen antigen/antibody at 23 days and a negative test at 27 days. Given that you told me that I shouldn’t have even taken pep or get tested since it was a short (less than a Minute or two) of oral exposure (tampon in place) - me down on her at end of menstruation. No significant wounds in my mouth other than chapped broken lips. Just looking for some expert opinions on accuracy of 4th gen at 27 days given my situation and potential relief that further testing is not needed assuming that’s still your assessment and there’s been no new medical research or opinions over the last several weeks.

FYI - NAT and 4th gen test were lab tests completed by Quest Diagnostics.

*Sigh*

Repeated anxiety driven questions are not permitted. My replies are to repeat that the exposure you described did not risk HIV infection and there was no need for PEP. Second, the combination of negative tests you had probably are conclusive. However, I'm uncertain about the timing of your tests in relation to the partial post exposure treatment you received. You really did not need HIV testing at all. However, if you feel you need a conclusively negative test, I would suggest a final AgAb (4th generation) blood test 6 weeks after the last dose of anti HIV medication. But in the meantime, you can be certain you do not have HIV.

Haha, thank you for the reassurance.  Just want to make sure there wasn't any new data or evidence related to my situation. I’m sorry, I am the worst. Going to get counseling for this. But I do want to thank you again for this service and all you do.
Is there a way to make a donation to the platform?

This last month has been anxiety hell. But this service and your responses have helped me keep myself from losing my mind. So you deserve more than $25 per question.

I am going to move on.
