[Question #12971] Hiv concern

Hello,
I would like to know of i had a potential exposure to hiv on this case. I had mutual masturbation with mutual ejaculation with a transexual escorton February 12. I made sure not to get any of her semen on my body but while we were masturbating she touched my testicles for a few seconds and i got really worried because i have herpes and hpv warts in that area and i don't know if she had any fluids on her hand when she touched me. I did the oraquick 82 days after exposure and it came back negative ( i am not sure if i did the test correctly since i only swabbed each gum for like 5 seconds each side) . I have done today the 4th gen hiv duo blood test as well and i m waiting for those results.
In your experience how likely is it that i could get Hiv from this exposure ?
What are your thoughts regarding my oraquick test?
Has there any documented cases of hiv transmission from a hand with contaminated semen touching a genital hpv or herpes wart?

Welcome back to the Forum.  The interaction you describe was a no risk event.  You do not know that your partner had HIV and in fact most transexual persons do not.  Mutual masturbation, even when partners get each others' genital secretions on each other is a no risk activity.  That is true even in the presence of open sores including herpes, the presence of warts or if scratched and scrapes come into contact with infected secretions.  If you had asked about testing, I would have told you that none was needed.

I cannot comment on the OraQuick test.  As a generalization it performs about as well as lab based tests although falsely positive tests are very slightly higher than in lab based test.  That said, I am confident that your 4th generation lab test will show that you were not infected.

Please don't worry.  EWH
