[Question #12981] Hiv Seroconversion and Chemo Medication

Hey,
Sorry, but this will be my last follow up question. I took another HIV RNA test after 27 days and it was negative and a 4th Gen test at 28 days and it was negative.

I did take hydroxyurea for about 2 months and stopped one or two weeks before possible expsoure. I found on google that a combination of hydroxyurea and didanosine can stop viral replication but I don't if if hydroxyurea would have an impact alone. Thanks for your help. I have bad health anxiety from my cancer diagnose and this is making things worse.

Will you please confirm if hydroxyurea could delay seroconversion?

You previously wrote this statement below about hiv tests.

There are no medical conditions, drugs, or anything else that interfere with the reliability or timing of any of the modern HIV tests, including the RNA tests.

This is an excessive and unnecessary question that has been answered. You even quote my statement that answers these questions: "There are no medical conditions, drugs, or anything else...." Did you think I might have changed my mind in the last few days?

"Will you please confirm if hydroxyurea could delay seroconversion?" They do not. (And "seroconversion" relates only to antibody testing -- and you also have the negative RNA results.)

This thread is being closed with no further discussion. Also please note the forum policy against repeated questions on the same topic, especially when anxiety driven. This being your third with versions of the same questions, it must be your last. Such repeated questions are subject to being deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. We're not keen on collecting fees for questions with obvious answers; repeated replies often prolong anxiety rather than relieving it (there's so often a "yes but" or "could I be the exception" sort of thinking); and such questions have reduced education value for other users, one of the forum's goals. Thank you for your understanding.

I do hope the discussions have been useful. Best wishes.
