[Question #13033] Scared

Dear doctors I have asked the following question but lost my account credentials hence asking again — Dear doctors, I am scared of the event in strip club. I had visited a strip club in Germany before 2 months. During this I was approached by a girl for private room experience . I was fully dressed . The girl was top naked and had just finished her pole dance. She was wearing her underwear. We did nothing . I only touched her nipples and breast. That’s it. It was 8 to 20 minutes time only. Touching only happened. Now I am under anxiety that I could have got hiv if she was infected. I had no idea of her status. . I didn’t touch anywhere else on her body and she never even opened her underwear. Since I am anxious and worried. I want to ask you that 1. Should I be worried of hiv infection?2. Should I continue my normal sex with my partner? 3. What is your advise in such a situation?. I have noticed a lymph node swelling under my chin while shaving. It is small. Is it any sign of infection?
During the entire time we were just sitting on the couch and I was fully dressed in jeans And jackets as it was cold. Can the fondling with nipples and breast cause some infections.
This is the only exposure I had in last years or so. Please advise.

Welcome back to the Forum. Your previous question was number 11424.
The encounter you describe did not put you at risk for any STI, including HIV. I say this with confidence. Some of the reasons I say this include
1. Most exotic dancers do not have HIV or other STIs.
2. HIV and othe STIs are NOT transmitted through clothing- even if that material is thin (like underwear) or becomes wet with genital secretions.
3. HIV and other STIs are NOT transmitted by touching, fondling, or even touching an infected persons genitals (masturbation)
Thus, in answer to your questions:
1. Should I be worried of hiv infection?
Absolutely not
2. Should I continue my normal sex with my partner?
There is no reason related to these events to avoid unprotected sex with your regular partner
3. What is your advise in such a situation?. I have noticed a lymph node swelling under my chin while shaving. It is small. Is it any sign of infection?
Please don't worry. There is no need to test. The lymph node you noticed is not related to the encounter you have described.
I hope this information is helpful. Please don't worry. EWH

Dear doctor your advise was truly helpful. I have some curiosity to know , if suppose the girl was recently infected with very high viral load, then what would have been your advice in such a scenario? You are the best experts on this topic and you can guide millions of people. Can you please share your opinion on the activities that pose a risk of infection of hiv and the activities which are no risk. It will actually help many individuals who take a clue from the expert answers from you. It will be helpful. Please share your thoughts

My response to your question would be the same whether or not your casual partner had a recent HIV infection. No change in my assessment.
This is the third response to this series of questions and for that reason this thread will now be closed. Take care. Please don’t worry. EWH.
