Hey docs , I hope yall had a great holiday weekend. I know I should not have returned, but literally I just wanted to ask a different question that I was confused on. I literally only trust you two, and this forum has helped me out tremendously. I also don’t mind making donations to this great site. I have been doing a lot better with my OCD and if you could please just listen to my new question, I would appreciate it.

On Elite controllers, I have seen on many posts that elite controllers will always test positive on “ standard antibody tests “. I just want to make sure elite controllers will always test positive on the on the fourth generation hiv test, especially since it tests for antibodies as well as p24 antigen.

I know a fourth generation hiv test includes tests for antibodies to hiv 1/2 and p24 antigen, but is the test for the antibodies considered a “ standard antibody test “?

9th question in less than a year. This is your OCD.

Elite controllers have circulating antibodies to HIV as well as low levels of circulating HIV which may show up as a positive p24 antigen test. 4th generation tests for HIV will be positive and will detect the antibodies present in elite controllers. EWH
