[Question #13081] All STDs and Hepatitis from sex toy
2 months ago
|
Hi,
I was curious about how long STDs including HPV, Herpes 2, and syphilis would survive in the sexual holes of a plastic TPE material sex doll. I understand why diseases like HIV, hepatitis, chlamydia, gonorrhea might die quickly because they are in bodily fluids. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. But do the diseases like hpv, herpes 2, and syphilis that aren't in bodily fluids last longer inside sex dolls? And if so, how long can they survive strong enough to infect someone? Especially inside TPE material because I have read that particular material is porous and can harbor disease. thank you

This question is very similar to a recent question regarding STI risk from exposure to a sex toy made of TPE. Are you the same client using a different user name?
Irrespective, STIs are not transmitted through exposure to genital secretions contaminating inanimate objects including those made of TPE unless two users use the toy immediately one after another without cleaning the toy. EVen then the risk of infection is purely theoretical. There is no need for testing if your only sexual exposure is to a TPE sex toy.
Anything you have read (probably on the internet) regarding infections from TPE sex toys is incorrect, like much of what is to be found on the internet. EWH

Thank you Doctor,
and No I am not that other user. This is my first question ever on this site.
I am just confused when you say STIs are not transmitted "from genital secretions" on a Toy. But aren't diseases like HPV, herpes, and syphilis NOT spread by genital secretions but rather from just touching the virus itself? Like a person can spread HPV or HSV without even having a sore. So if just the HPV or Herpes2 virus was lingering inside the sexual holes (anus and vagina) of a TPE material sex doll, how long would those specific diseases be infectious for in there if the doll wasn't cleaned? I have read online that herpes can survive for up to 8 weeks outside the body and that HPV can survive for up to a week outside the body. Please clear all this up for me. Thank you so much.

The diseases you mention, HPV, syphilis, and syphilis are ONLY transmitted through DIRECT contact with an infected (human) site- not indirectly. These infections do not "linger" within the crevices of of a TPE sex toy. As I mentioned above, you are being misled by what you are reading on the internet. Any one who suggests that herpes can survive for a week outside the body is wrong.
You have one follow-up remaining. EWH

Thank you doctor.'
It looks like you wrote syphilis twice, I am assuming you meant to write herpes2 one of those times?
So you are saying even if a sex doll's sexual holes (no matter what the material is) have been used by a man with HIV, Any type of HEPATITIS, or ANY STD at ALL (bodily fluid ones or skin ones) and it wasn't cleaned after his use, the ONLY way someone else could possibly become infected with ANYTHING is if an Uninfected man inserted his penis into the doll within a few minutes after the infected man?
I inserted my bare penis into the doll roughly once a day (sometimes twice a day) starting a week and a half ago and threw out the doll yesterday. So I probably used it about 10-12 times with no condom, the last time being this past Saturday and just yesterday I noticed just a few super tiny whitish/flesh colored dots on my penile shaft. Totally painless and hard to even really see. But I guess that cant be from the sex doll according to you? it could just be papules or Fordyce spots maybe? or something else Non- STD related? thank you so much

I was referring to all of the infections you mentioned. I don't know how to put it more clearly- YOU CANNOT GET AN STI, INCLUDING HIV FROM CONTACT WITH A CONTAMINATED SEX TOY UNLESS THEY ARE USING IT IMMEDIATELY AFTER ANOTHER, INFECTED PERSON, WHETHER IT IS MADE OF TPE OR SOMETHING ELSE!!!!
"According to me" and based of more than 40 years of research and focus, I can assure you that you cannot have gotten infected from a TPE sex toy in the manner you describe. Fordyce spots are not an acute problem.
You need to relax.
This thread is now over. There should be no need for you to return with further questions on this topic. EWH
