How does shedding work? Can you transfer the virus with your fingers if you touch your lip and your shedding the virus?
I took some melatonin before bed and a few mins later changed a poopy diaper. I only touched the wipe but the part of the wipe I touched also touched her bottom. The next morning I woke up with a giant cold sore. Could it transfer like this?

Shedding is happens with and without symptoms. Touching a lip is very likely not enough to collect enough virus to then transfer to someone else, not to mention the intervening wipe. This is NOT a method of transmission.

My sister rubbed her mouth and then immediately buckled my daughter in her car seat. She was in a dress. The next day my sister she developed a cold sore. Should I worry about this encounter? Me and all my family get cold sores besides my kids and hubby so it’s rough for me

Also one more.. what are the odds of touching my mouth and then a few mins later changing my daughter and accidentally touching her vulnerable area with no current cold sore and transferring the virus to the area?
