[Question #13142] New Symptom After All Negative Panel 16 Weeks Post Exposure
2 months ago

Hello Doctors,
I have asked previous questions before and in those questions I have detailed my encounter. Here I am, 24 weeks post my encounter and I had forgotten about any STD worries since my last STD panel. I had stopped repeatedly examining my penis to see if any new sores, blisters, bumps appear. Today, while urinating I pulled my foreskin back and I noticed a singular, very dark/black looking scab on my foreskin, very near the head of my penis on the outer part. I thought it was a speckle of dust from my clothes or underwear so I began to pick at it and noticed it was stuck to my skin. I kept picking at it and it came off eventually revealing reddish looking skin like when a scab comes off. Before this, I hadn't noticed any blisters, sores, or lesions but I was not actively checking. Could this be Syphilis or Herpes? I had the following tests done for these diseases:
88 days post encounter, treponema pallidum igg+igm Ab: negative.

As we discussed last time, your test results are conclusive. Test results always overrule symptoms and exposure history. I cannot say what might be causing the "scab" on your foreskin. Unless you have had a new sexual exposure since your previous one or your blood tests, it cannot be syphilis. Herpes has pretty variable appearances, but this doesn't sound like herpes either -- and your negative blood tests make it very unlikely.

If your peniie skin changes continue, I would advise seeing a dermatologist. But you can stop worrying about syphilis and probably herpes. In any case, this forum cannot help further. Sorry.
