[Question #13227] Urologist follow-up/std/testicular pain

Hello again, and if Dr Handsfield, this will clarify the prior interaction we had
I had to see my urologist the other day otherwise he would've charged me $50 for late cancellation.  He decided to do another urine test (NAAT) for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and trichomonas.  That test was done on Friday morning(7/11), and I got the results back yesterday that he called me and said that all negative.
Again, this is from an exposure on 06/14/2025 after about a month's worth of treatment with the last treatment being; doxycycline from 6/22-7/10 and the last of multiple Rocephin shots on
7/2/2025.
So in finality:
1)are these tests absolutely conclusive?
2) any chance that there could still be a lingering infection but the test showing falsely negative due to "low" bacteria count?
3) I'm still having symptoms and wondering if I need to test any longer?
4)why does CDC say to test for test of cure if after this time it shows negative?  Is that because of possible partner interaction that might one be reinfected after treatment?
5) I guess I don't know if I ever had it, but does this make it certain that I do not have at present time, specifically after recent treatment?
6) are false negatives a problem after treatment or just false positives?
Thank you.
And kindness, I hope never to be back here again. Thank you.

Welcome back but I really don't understand why you feel the need. I see nothing in these questions that wasn't answered last time, or whose answers are not obvious from that discussion. Did you read my previous replies? Or not understand them?

1) "are these tests absolutely conclusive?" Yes. So were the excessive treatments you received.
2) "any chance that there could still be a lingering infection but the test showing falsely negative due to "low" bacteria count?" No. There is no such thing as tests being negative because of "low bacterial count".
3) Your previous thread did not mention symptoms. Whatever they are, it is 100% certain they are not due to any STI from you minimal risk exposure.
4) CDC's test of cure guidance is only for people with proved infection, tested after standard treatments. And you are exactly right about the reason for late test of cure (e.g. 3 months) -- not to detect treatment failure but to check for new infection in people who resume sex after treatment.
5) See answers 1 and 2.
6) False negatives after treatment never are a problem.

Repeated anxiety driven questions are not permitted. Let me know if anything remains unclear. However, if you again ask a question already answered, the thread will be closed immediately without reply.

Thank you for your reply.  There is so much information out there, and not sure what to believe.  Hopefully these questions will finalize my thread, and if anything still a blur I will ask, but this should do it.
My symptoms which I forgot to mention started 4 days after exposure and were, and still are, groin/pelvic/penis head pain. I worry that the brief oral and her fingering my rectum( with possibly BAD STUFF on her fingers from her, or another client) may have infected me.
Questions in regards to gonorrhea/chlamydia/trich:
1)Is there any way that with all of my treatment and test results, that I could still get a false negative because of bacterial resistance to my treatment and may not fully be cured?
2)If there were bacterial resistance to ANY of the treatments I had, would my tests definitively show a positive if indeed still infected no matter when my treatment was?
3)Why do so many reputable sites say to wait at least three weeks or more to be tested after treatment for the result to be valid?
4)IS there any other STD that could cause this type of pain that I need to test for that I haven't already?
5)With my treatment, would syphilis have been eliminated and therefore no need to test for it?
6)Am I totally safe to initiate sex with my wife?  Its our anniversary this weekend and I HAVE TO be TOTALLY SURE that I am free of any of these diseases (Gonorrhea/Chlamydia/Trich/Syphillis)
7)How successful are all these treatments at treating this diseases and when does one have to be worried about treatment failure and need to test again?
Thank you for your time and expertise.  This should do it.
Warm regards

Your symptom are not those of any known STI. And as I warned, these questions duplicate what you have asked already or whose answers are obvious. Sheesh.

1) "Is there any way...?" No.
2) Yes.
3) Irrelevant to your situation. I'm sorry you just don't get it.
4) No.
5) Yes, correct.
6) Yes. You should never have stopped.
7) 100% and never.

Please note the forum policy against repeated questions on the same topic. This being your second about your low risk exposure and your wildly inappropriate treatment and test, it must be your last on these topics. Repetitive questions are deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. The forum sponsor doesn't want repeated payment for questions already answered (or whose answers are obvious from previous discussions) and repeated answers tend to prolong rather than relieve anxiety. In addition, such questions have reduced educational value for other users, one of the forum's goals. Thank you for your understanding.
