[Question #13232] STD/HPV

Have a question about STD- possible HPV/warts. Have been getting together with another man (Mike) for several years now to perform fellatio on. Recently, he asked to try anal (him penetrating) and we did briefly do it twice without a condom (I am on PREP). The first time was 6/24/25. The second time was 7/9/25 at which time I noticed a small bump on the head of his penis afterwards. Mike is married (to a woman), I am also married (to a man). Mike has had oral from other guys but claims not from anyone other than me for last several months. I have performed oral on other guys and had 2 instances of unprotected anal (receptive) in last 2 months- both times taking DOXY PEP. My husband and I have occasional threesomes- usually just oral but now that I am on PREP we are open to me having anal sex with others. I do not see anything that looks like a wart on my penis, rectum, or on my husband. My husband and I have sex together regularly. Mike has sent me some pics of the spots (now 2) on his penis. He can't seek medical exam because his wife would know. We'd like to know if these spots appear to be HPV or some other STD? I can send pictures. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Forum. I'm sorry, but we do not accept pictures. Past experience is that trying to interpret photographs is quite unreliable. From what you say the penile lesions are unlikely to be an STI but only direct examination by an experienced clinician will tell the story. FYI, most genital lesions are NOT HPV and, based on your past experiences, it is likely that each of you already has HPV, like most sexually active persons. Has your partner not noticed the lesion himself? ow long have they been there? Are they changing now that he is aware of them.
My advice is to treat these like any other dermatological problem and seek a proper evaluation. EWH
