[Question #13274] Massage Risk

Hello, sorry for the hypochondria here, but I do need to be sure and let this go. I had a happy ending massage yesterday and want to assess risk for not just sti but also anything else. I realized after that she was using an open jar and just reapplying the oil or lotion with her hand. I would have felt better if it were a pump because I left catastrophizing that her tub may have been contaminated from touching the last guy and potentially transferring to me. There was zero sexual contact or fluid from her, just her hand and the stuff from her jar. Thank you!)

Welcome. Thank you for your confidence in our services.

"Hypochondria" is your term, not mine -- but I agree you are over worried about something that should be no concern at all. This was absolutely no risk for any infection of any kind. Don't worry about it and don't be tested for anything. If you have a regular partner, you can continue your usual sexual practices without putting them at risk.

Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you very much, Doctor.
Everything is very clear and I accept that I was irrationally concerned.
The open jar she used to dip into with her hands to apply was gross to me thinking about other clients in the day, but I am very relieved that gross does not equate to danger of transmission of anything living in there to me. I very much appreciate the reassurance.

That others has used the jar doesn't sound "gross" to me. Probably it contained sterilizing disinfectant and was no more risky than using the same bar of soap used by another person (which also is zero risk for infection). And anyway, nobody carries STIs on their hands.---

That is even more reassuring and no longer sounds so gross. Thank you again for your responses. I will let this go!
