Hi Dr,
I am a gay male.
I have been having a bad throat, congestion cough , blocked nose which is better now and fever upto 100 for last 5 days. Today the fever has reduced.
I also noticed pain in my lower gum and inner lip area when eating from one side. Worried that they may be ulcers.
Are these symptoms consistent with ars?
My exposure was with a masseur , have gave me a handjob and fingered me . I was on my belly with undies and i think one side of the undie slided away a bit while he rubbed his penis on my butt. I had my underwear on, however i am noticed his penis outside his underwear rubbing on my butt and immediately stopped him.
Would penetration have happened without me knowing considering i have never had anal sex .
This had been bothering me . Are these symptoms ars related ?

Welcome back to the Forum. Thanks for your continuing confidence in our service. The encounter you describe was a no risk event Receipt of masturbation, including fingering is a no risk event for acquistion of HIV and other STIs. Had your masseuse penetrated you during the encounter, you certainly would have known it. If you had asked if you needed testing related to this event, my response would have been that no testing is needed from a scientific and medical perspective.
The ARS is a combination of symptoms which include high fever, sore throat, and widespread muscle and joint aches. These are the same symptoms as caused by other non-STI problems including COVID or influenza. In fact when at risk persons have these symptoms, more than 99% have something other than the ARS. In your case, congestion is not a sign of the ARS and, as noted above, your exposure was no risk.

I feel pain when i eat in my inner lip , it seems a bit red. Also feel some pain in the groin if i touch a certain area. Worried that it may be a node.
My fever lasted 5 days upto 100 F. Also had a blocked nose on and off . My voice changed and became more hoarse. Are these symptoms of ars ?

As I tried to indicate above, the symptoms you describe do not suggest the ARS. Certainly your lip pain does not as well. I think that you are, once again, worrying needlessly.

Thanks for your revert . Request if you could help me with the below please :
1. He also gave me a handjob and licked my nipple area. I had used a trimmer maybe an hour back . Would small nicks or cuts from that and contact with his saliva cause HIV? What is the saliva had blood ?
2. I have never had anal sex , however as u mentioned I would have felt pain and known if i was penetrated , considering there was no lube and i was NOT under alcohol, etc
3. I have noticed slight redness on the roof of my mouth and inner lip and it’s a bit painful . I read that mouth ulcers are a symptom of ars.
The fever started 5 days back, it was on and off between 99 and 100 F. The redness in the mouth has started 4 days after the fever started.
4. Currently Inhave NO fever , except around 98.8 to 99 F , this also comes only late afternoon and subsides by itself .
5. Is nasal congestion , nose blocked a symptom as well of the ARS?
6. Can I continue with practices such as getting a handjob or getting fingered . Are these risk free ?

Correct. Perhaps no pain but you would know if penetration occurred
