[Question #13336] Final Thoughts Needed

March 9th I fingered a girl with a small cut.  I also kissed her a lot with a sore in my mouth.

Ten days after the event we had a rapid hiv alere duo.  We both were negative.

Since then I have tested 3 times EVERY month using the same rapid alere duo.  The results have always been negative.  My last test was on August 7th. (152 days post risk). It was negative.

The reason I keep testing is I have had a lot of coatings / sores in my mouth which forces me to retest.

Since my 152 day test I had minor pain at the corner of my lips. If it was angular chelitis it was very minor.  This was on day 159 and day 160

1. Can I please stop hiv testing?

2. Can I sleep with my wife?

3.  Should I just keep focusing on my mental health counseling?

4.  Isn’t 159 days (angular chelitis ) to late to be ARS ?

5. Does vitamin D3 or b12 affect hiv tests?

Thank you

I'm sorry to see you back, especially in view of the evidence of your continued irrational fear of HIV despite zero risk. You did not even need HIV testing. In any case, HIV test results overrule all other considerations. A negative result sufficiently long after exposure is 100% proof the person doesn't have it; and a test during symptoms proves HIV isn't the cause, no matter how typical for HIV/ARS they may seem to be. And in any case, neither mouth "coating", oral sores, nor angular cheilitis are common HIV symptoms and they would never be the only symptoms of ARS. And nobody in the world has ever been known to catch HIV from an exposure of the sort you had a few months ago -- with a partner unlikely to have HIV anyway.

1,6. "Can I please stop hiv testing?" Yes. You did not need testing anyway.
2. "Can I sleep with my wife?" Yes. You should never have stopped.
3. "Should I just keep focusing on my mental health counseling?" Yes indeed!
4,6. "Isn’t 159 days (angular chelitis ) too late to be ARS ?" Yes; and not a common HIV symptom anyway; and proved not due to HIV by your negative test results.
5. "Does vitamin D3 or b12 affect hiv tests?" No medications or drugs have any effect on HIV test reliability or timing (including biotin as we have discussed previously) and certainly not these or any other vitamins.

I hope question 3 means you are in professional counseling. If so, keep it up, including discussion of the reasons you are so extraordinarily worried about HIV and your sexual decision making. If not actually in counseling, I hope you will consider it now. Your thinking and worries on all this definitely are not rational. I say this from compassion, not criticism. Good luck with it.

Please let's have no "yes but" or "could I be the exception" sorts of follow-up questions. There is nothing you will think of that has any chance of changing my assessment or advice.

Sorry, but I refuse to answer questions already answered or whose answers are obvious from all that's been said so far. This thread is over and no additional threads on this exposure and your irrational HIV fears. As you have previously been warned, we do not accept repeated questions on the same topic or exposure especially when anxiety driven; future ones will receive no reply and the posting fee will not be refunded. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is intended to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Such questions also have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes.

Best wishes and good luck.
