[Question #13374] Unprotected Vaginal Sex with CSW in Bay Area

Hi Doctors, I hope you're well. I recently had 2 incidents where I visited Korean CSWs based in the bay area and things got hot and heavy and I ended up having unprotected vaginal sex both times (2 different CSWs) They both work for the same org. I spoke to the operator of the org and she told me the girls get tested on a monthly basis and also sees the gynecologist on a monthly basis and that the girls are clean. Both incidents lasted for about 1-2 minutes. Afterwards I felt anxiety and worry, but I read the answers archives and I came to the conclusion that this is a low risk event and my chances of catching HIV is 1 in 1200 roughly (I am uncircumcised) and the chances of CSWs having HIV is about less than 1 in a thousand, which puts my overall risk at about 1 in 1.2 million (per Perplexity).
Even with these reassuring facts, I still would like to hear it directly from you regarding my situation, as it would give me additional comfort.
I plan to get tested at the 5 week mark.
At 5 weeks would that be considered conclusive?
I also plan to do a urine test for chlamydia and gonnorhea.  Thank you again for your service.

Welcome back to the forum.  Thanks for your continuing confidence in our service. The statistics that you mentioned are on target and I agree with your assessment. These were very low risk encounters.  At five weeks a fourth generation combination HIV antigen/antibody test would detect over 99% of recent infections. Neither of us has ever seen or heard of a person with a negative test at four weeks or beyond who went on to become HIV positive. It does apparently occur, but is very, very rare.

I hope this information is helpful. Please don’t worry. EWH.
