I’m sorry, but some of my questions were not addressed and my question was closed. I also have some additional questions.

1. I was wanting to know if you think it’s likely that I became infected with HSV1 from this encounter?

2. IF my partner also has genital HSV1, it would be at least 10 years since being infected since his last relationship was in 2015. Is it possible he isn’t shedding at all anymore?

3. If someone is truly negative for both types via WB, do they tend to make antibody quickly? Would any other factors slow down antibody production other than taking antivirals?

4. My swab came back negative for the gum sores. So I have had no symptoms orally or genitally that I have recognized. Since I am negative for both types via WB, wouldn’t it be likely that I would have had symptoms?

5. How accurate would a negative IGG for HSV1 be at 5 and a half weeks? 65%, 70%?

6. So you are saying that 11 weeks and 4 or 5 days would be conclusive for a negative WB?

7. Do you think the odds are in my favor of not having this since I had a negative test at 4 weeks?

My anxiety just keeps trying to convince me that I have caught this, and because it was recent I know I am going to have to wait for accurate results. I just need some guidance to help stop me from spiraling and convincing myself that I have this.

Thank you.

1. I was wanting to know if you think it’s likely that I became infected with HSV1 from this encounter?
Unlikely

We can't say no shedding, but if present it would likely be rarely present.

3. If someone is truly negative for both types via WB, do they tend to make antibody quickly? Would any other factors slow down antibody production other than taking antivirals?
Yes, people who have no antibody to HSV 1 or 2 will make antibody more quickly than the person who has HSV 1 and acquires HSV 2, by a week or two

4. My swab came back negative for the gum sores. So I have had no symptoms orally or genitally that I have recognized. Since I am negative for both types via WB, wouldn’t it be likely that I would have had symptoms?
Probably, yes

5. How accurate would a negative IGG for HSV1 be at 5 and a half weeks? 65%, 70%?
We don't have those numbers for HSV 1, only for HSV 2

6. So you are saying that 11 weeks and 4 or 5 days would be conclusive for a negative WB?
Yes, I am saying that.

7. Do you think the odds are in my favor of not having this since I had a negative test at 4 weeks?
Yes, I do, and without symptoms as well.

Thank you Terri, that helps calm me down some.

Do you think it would be ok to test again at 5.5 weeks? Would that be pretty close to 6 weeks in terms of set conversion?

I am also assuming that while there are no percentages for HSV1, that seroconversion time would be similar to HSV2?

Yes, it would be OK to test at 5.5 weeks, close enough to 6 weeks for 70% certainty.
Seroconversions times would likely be very similar, yes

I’m sorry Terri, I miscalculated. If I were to get the test done at 5 weeks and 2 days, would that be close enough to 6 weeks? Just a day shy of 5.5 weeks? Or would you recommend waiting until the next day for the full 5.5 weeks?

It really doesn't matter that much, Heather, either is just fine.  It won't be the final test so close enough
