[Question #13466] STD Risk at Massage Parlor

Hello, almost three days ago i got more than i bargained for at a Asian massage place. This is a new place i went to and i was expecting just a happy ending turned out to be a little much

after the massage she sprayed some sort of alcohol or cleansing substance, i thought this was for a hand job , she then performed unprotected oral on me for approximately less than one minute, before i told her to stop. She spoke very little English. She then put a condom on me and had vaginal sex for about 3-5 minutes. I withdrew before ejaculating and i seen the condom filling up and looked intact.  She then proceeded to take off the condom with her hands and handed me a napkin with that cleansing spray on it

about 55 hours later i decided to get a Rapid Gonorrhea and Chlamydia test, at my local health department clinic. Results where available within hours and came back negative.

Based on the exposure and duration of the unprotected oral sex, should i be concerned, i am uncircumcised and worry about std and the possibility of contracting HIV.

Does not being circumcised effect Hiv transmission for Oral or just Vaginal?
Is Further Testing Warranted repeat or HIV? Is PEP completely out of the question?

Thank you

Welcome to the Forum.  Thanks for your questions.  I'll be glad to comment.  The encounter you describe was low risk for the following reasons:
1.  Most commercial sex workers do not have STIs, including HIV
2.  Most single exposures do not result in transmission of infection (rates vary with different STIs)
3.  The most common STI acquired from receipt of an STI is gonorrhea, your gonorrhea (and chlamydia) tests prove you are not infected.
4.  There are no proven cases of HIV acquired from receipt of oral sex.  You will not be the first.
5.  Condoms are highly protective if your partner was infected.  That the condom appeared intact when your sex was finished is evidence that the condom did not fail- when condoms fail, they break wide open leaving no doubt that they failed

Regarding the specific exposures:
1.  Oral sex.  See my comments above about oral sex.  There is no risk for HIV and your tests prove that you did not acquire gonorrhea or chlamydia
2.  Condom protected vaginal sex.  Condoms prevent STI acquisition.
3.  Circumcision.  Does not change the virtually no risk nature of your exposure.
4.  Other contact.  STIs are transmitted only through sexual activity.  That some of her vaginal secretions may have been on her hands does not pose a risk
5.  PEP.  PEP is a personal decision but I see no medical or scientific reason for you to pursue PEP.
6.  Further testing.  Again, a personal decision but I see no reason or need for further testing

I hope this information is helpful.  Please don't worry. EWH
