[Question #13488] Std worry

On October 2, I have unprotected hand job from someone I do not know their std status . I believe this person may engage in that behavior very often .
Before I got the hand job I also used the penis pump so I worry that my skin had micro tears in the skin that would allow certain bacteria viruses to get in. I also used a more intense pain pump on the 5 October.
Since then, I’ve had slight pressure in my urethra and peeing, and the inside tip of the urethra seems red. I am uncircumcised . Since the encounter I been having extreme anxiety about infecting my monogamous partner. I took a full panel STD test 10 days after everything came back negative, but I still worry that I will affect my partner. The symptom that is making me worry a lot is having numbness in my feet which I read could be a sign of herpes neurología and the tip of my foreskin feeling a bit wet/ moist . When I squeeze the head I do not see discharge  . I am also very stressed about syphilis

Welcome to the Forum.  Thanks for your implied confidence in our service.  I'll be glad to comment.

While you do not know the infection status of your partner, statistically it is unlikely that he had any STI.  Even if he did, receipt and participation of masturbation, even when sex toys are used and abrasion occurs remains a no risk event in terms of STI risk. Your tests prove that you did not acquire the most common STIs such a gonorrhea or chlamydia.    I would have no concerns about other STIs, including HIV.  The same is true regarding syphilis risk.

My suspicion is that the trauma of using the penis pump on several occasions, as well as perhaps anxiety driven self-examination may be the source of the pressure sensations you have noted (when persons are looking for STI symptoms, they tend to notice otherwise normal sensations that are normally overlooked) and repeated self examination may be contributing as well.

I urge you to put your concerns aside and move forward without concern.  I see no need for additional testing.  EWH

Thank you for your response. So it’s been 20 days since my encounter . I worry that this lady does to this often  so I worry about the chance of herpetic whitlow or sphyilis chancre sores on the hand .
My main symptom I’ve been feeling is just pain in the pelvic area that comes and goes it feels like a dull ache . I have taken std test at 10 and 14 days  and they have come out. Negative but I fear that since I’m on 600 mg of rifampin that the antibiotics could have influenced the negative results or mask the infection

I guess I’m feeling an insane amount of guilt and free of infecting my partner

Your additional conjecture does not change my assessment or advice.  Dr. Handsfield and I continue to agree with the CDC and WHO that the sort of encounter you describe posed no risk to you for any STI.  If you had acquired herpes you would have developed lesions within 10 days of your encounter, a chancre would have appeared by now.

Address your guilt.  It's time to move forward.  EWH

I see . Thank you doctor I do want to clarify ,You don’t see the rifampin obscuring a std result ?ive read online that rifampin can mess with chlamydia and gonorea results  I take 600 mg daily for about two months now for latent tb

I understood about the rifampin but it makes no difference in my assessment.

This thread is now complete.  EWH
