I think I know the answer but want to confirm for reassurance. I know you have said time and time again that hand jobs (even with vaginal fluids) are virtually no risk. Is the same true of saliva? I had a handjob tonight from an escort and she spit on her hand for lubrication. This was a first for me as they usually use lubrication. I assume this is virtually no risk also but want to confirm. Thank you for your help!

Welcome back to the Forum.  I'll be glad to comment.

There is general agreement both from us on the Forum as well as from the CDC and WHO that receipt of masturbation, irrespective of the lubricant used (including saliva) poses no meaningful risk for acquisition of any STI.  Indeed although gonococci can rarely be found in the saliva of persons with oral gonorrhea, transmission through indirect exposure to saliva in not a concern.  Let me list the reasons why I say this:

1.  Most people, even commercial sex workers do not have oral STIs, including gonorrhea.
2.  When they do, exposure to the environment renders the bacteria non-infectious.

I would have no concerns about acquiring any STI from the exposure you describe.  I see no scientific reason for concern or for testing.  I hope this explanation is helpful.  Please don't worry.  EWH
