[Question #13519] Club question

Dr. I was at a strip club with and got a private dance. The dancer was rubbing my penis and slipped a plastic kitchen glove over my penis (it wasn’t a surgical glove but the loose thin plastic type) and sucked me for like 1 to 2 min. I came to my senses and stopped it.  I left with no further contact. I was wondering if the plastic would offer some protection from any STDs ?  What should I be concerned with?

2 days before the incidence I was prescribed 10 days of 100mg of doxycycline for a nasty sinus infection. And have been on it since then.  Does this help also? I have been symptom free… no discharge , burning or blisters.  Just a little ashamed of myself and want to return back to normal. What should I be worried about.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your. confidence in our services.

The events above were entirely free of risk for any STD. And being on doxycycline at the time was 100% protection against syphilis and chlamydia, so those would have been zero risk even with unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Doxy reduces the chance of gonorrhea by about half, but you were at virtually no risk for gonorrhea anyway. Having no symptoms also is reassuring.

"What should I be worried about?" Nothing. I advise against any testing. If you have a regular sex partner, you can safely continue your usual sexual practices without putting them at risk for anything.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you for the response. I’m glad to hear that. Gonorrhea was the one that concerned me. So the lack of symptoms is reassuring. For my own knowledge did the plastic glove (which seemed odd) offer any protection? After your reply we can consider this closed .

Thanks for the service you provide!

Assuming the glove covered the head of your penis and meatus (urethral opening), it was just as good as a condom. No STI bacteria or virus can penetrate any kind of latex, polyurethane, etc.

Thanks for the thanks. I'm glad to have helped. Best wishes and stay safe.
