[Question #13589] Chances of std ?

Hi team,

Hope everyone is doing well. I did some research on the forum and kind of got my answer. But wanted to make sure that it is correct. Earlier today I went for a massage with a happy ending. Long story short at the end of the massage the lady touched her her vagina (I am assuming she added some lube) and then grabbed my penis for about 5 -10 seconds and then I told Her to stop. Mo real friction in that moment. She cleaned me with a napkin and then 15 minutes later I took a shower. I didn’t see any sores on her but couldn’t really tell.
Should I worry about any STDs in general after this event?
Should I wait some days to have sex with my partner ?
For example as in blood or fluid I couldn’t really tell if she had any. What do you think? There was no gentical to gentical contact only hand gentiyal. They offer this services to everyone I assume. Thank you.

Welcome back to our forum. Thanks for your continuing confidence in our service, as well as for looking at past responses with other clients. We leave these threads available for just the purpose you used them for-looking for information.

As I suspect you have determined, the interactions you describe are no risk, even in the unlikely event that your masseuse had HIV or some other STI (despite their somewhat risky vocations, most masseuses of commercial worker sex workers do not have STI and in fact, tend to be better about taking precautions than most non-professionals.).  There is general agreement by experts, by the WHO, and by the CDC that receipt of masturbation is not a risk factor for acquisition of STIs. This is true, even if there is contact with genital secretions or even blood. As a result, there is no need for concern or for testing related to the interaction that you described.

I would have no concerns whatsoever about this interaction and encourage you to move forward without concern. If you have a regular partner, there is no reason to modify your intimate activities with them. I hope this information is helpful to you. EWH.

Thank you doctor! I appreciate the feedback and yes I did assume that. Since I have extra questions , might as well do it for educational purposes
Does the risk factor play a role in let’s say
The time of if the contact is more intense? You say that fluids or blood don’t play a role ? Many websites say that? Could you elaborate ? Or does immediate contact have to happen?  And finally going back To my scenario, the incident itself was no big risk and also the time involved that it was let’s say less than 10 seconds and it was a really immediate contact after. Still the hands are not a good transmission route. Thank you!

Regarding “ risk factors “, it’s important to remember that risk is relative and that in most “high risk” situations , the majority of exposures still do not lead to infection.  Thus while the risk of HIV is about 100 times higher when condoms are not used for vaginal sex with an infected partner, the risk of unprotected exposure to an untreated infected partner is still less than 1 infection for every 2000 exposure.  Thus most single exposures even to higher risk partners do not lead to infection.

Regarding duration of exposure, while it makes since that longer exposures increase the risk of transmission, there are no studies of this variable to provide how it might vary.

Dr. Hook, I appreciate your comments and I think I won’t think about it to much. I appreciate your help, but before I let you go and call it a day. Just wanted to get my summary and please let me know if it’s correct.  Hand to genital is not A good path to transmission. Not all exposure lead to infections. Hence making the risk lower I shouldn’t have to worry about the bacterial stds , hiv and the skin wise heroes or syphilis with such a brief contact I think I’ll either way just wait a week to Play it safe and then just delete it from The memory.
Once again thanks for your help and wish you a great day!

My summary would be just a little bit stronger as I would say that hand to genital contact is NOT a path to infection

Please don’t worry.  EWH
