[Question #13597] Hsv

I have a weird question. The other day I was changing my daughter… she was on the bed and I knelt down next to the bed. On my way down to kneel my hair touched my lips and then brushed against her vulnerable area ( perineum and anus ) I didn’t have a cold sore that I knew of but a day later I noticed a possible one. I take daily Valtrex (500 mg). What are the odds of transferring hsv down there? I always have my hair up when I change her but I was in a hurry. She had pooped so her legs were up while I changed her and when I went to wipe my hair touched her again. Can it go from my lip to my hair to her bottom? I didn’t think anything of it until later because that is how my mind works.

Hair is not a method of transmission, no, never

Thank you! The answer would be the same if I had a active cold sore and my hair touched it and then the mucous membranes and I wiped her bottom with a wipe potentially wiping the “virus” into the body?

Thank you!
Would a quick hand wash with soap and water kill the virus that is potentially on the hand? As in the soap and water touches the area but the whole hand wasn’t necessarily scrubbed?

Yes, it would, but why not just wash all the hand?
