[Question #13632] Oral Gonnorhea

About almost 2 years ago I performed cunnilingus on a stripper.  I never thought to get a throat swab at the time.  Is there any realistic chance that I would still have oral Gonnorhea after all this time of that event had caused an infection?

Welcome to the Forum.  I'll be glad to comment and hope that I can assure you that there is nothing to worry about.  While oral gonorrhea can occur without symptoms, most commercial sex workers do not have STis, most single exposures do not result in infection (in general but particularly with cunnilingus), and infections, when they occur, tend to resolve on their own without therapy.  Other than a low possibility of transmission to others, there are virtually no complications of oral gonorrhea when it occurs.  I would not be worried and see no reason for testing at this time.  EWH---

Thanks for your reply.  I performed cunnilingus on my wife 2 years after the event.  Any concerns?  My wife and I had sex yesterday and within a few minutes after the tip of my penis started to tingle.  I do have a history of cpps.  Could I have realistically infected myself genitally?

As I indicated, there are no concerns.

Penile tingling is not a sign of gonorrhea or other STI.  you are worrying needlessly.  EWH

So your not concerned that after 2 years  after the event I could have infected her through cunnilingus a then infected myself genitally?  As I mentioned, my penile discomfort occurred within a few minutes after intercourse.  Also been dealing with a sore throat the past week or so.

Final response to these repetitive questions.  As I said before, I have no concerns.  The symptoms of gonorrhea never begin within minutes of an exposure.

If you choose to test, please feel free to do so.  Testing is always a personal decision.  Should you test, I am confident that the tests will show that you are not infected.

This thread is now complete and will be closed shortly.  EWH
