I am a 55 year old man who had unprotected sex with a female at a sex massage spa 4 weeks ago, in Ontario Canada.

I did not ejaculate in her, but now exactly 4 weeks later , I believe I have thrush ( not as white as pictures I have seen) and had muscle pain for a couple of days.

I am a working chronic alcoholic for years and was drinking even heavier daily  thru the holidays the night of the muscle pain I was at a club dancing and drinking heavier  that is where the pain began the following day I noticed my tongue was white and I have been biting /grinding it while sleeping,

 and  wondering if that could have been alcoholic myopathy for the pain and just lack of vitamins and my bad diet for my tongue ( I have always had a cracked tongue)OR

Could I be one of the lucky men to contract hiv with a onetime exposure?

Worried to have sex with my wife , Not sure what to do?

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your questions.  I'll be glad to comment.  The risk of HIV from any single sexual encounter is low- most commercial sex workers do not have4 untreated HIV and more than 99.9% of encounters with an infected partner do NOT result in infection.  Further, your symptoms really do not suggest HIV.  Fever is a prominent part of recently acquired HIV and it's not clear to me that you have thrush.  Even if you do, most people with thrush do not have HIV.  I would add that we're in the midst of a larger than usual flu season which could account for your symptoms as well.---

As you say. testing is a good way to be sure but I do not feel strongly that you need it.  In your situation, I would not be worried about having sex with my wife.  EWH---
