[Question #13700] Oral chlamydia and gonorrhea problem

Fourteen days ago, I had protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral sex with an escort. I then took a PCR test on the 7th day, and the results came back negative. On the 12th day, I had sex with my partner. Immediately afterwards, I took a shower and washed with shower gel. On the 13th day, I experienced itching and a slight burning sensation at the tip of my penis. From what I've researched online, this test is supposed to be done within 14 days, and my result could be a false negative. I'm worried about potentially transmitting an infection to my partner. Do you think there's a risk?

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your question. It is not clear whether your PCR test was for HIV (there was virtually no risk of HIV from the encounter you describe) or for gonorrhea or chlamydia. If your test was for gonorrhea and chlamydia, it was taken at a time when your test results are entirely reliable and you can be sure that you did not acquire gonorrhea or chlamydia. The burning sensation you describe may be due to some other source of irritation such as the shower gel. EWH---

Yes, I had a PCR test for chlamydia and gonorrhea 7 days after contact, but I currently have pain and itching. Do I need to get tested again? My mental health is really suffering. It's still too early for HIV.

You can stop worrying. Your test results were conclusive for gonorrhea and chlamydia and as I said, there is virtually no chance that you acquired HIV. There is no scientific reason for further testing. EWH---
