ecital discomfort is gone but groin area seems to be bad for a few days subside then move to a slightly different area - say under the scrotum for a few days of discomfort and hot feeling. It’s strange. So my question is could this be a new hsv2 infection or recurrence of a genital hsv1 infection or recurrence of hsv2 that was missed by antibody test. The symptoms as very similar to what I felt 10 years ago in the same places. Should I do an hsv2 antibody again in time. There does feel like there is fluid underneath a patch of skin in the groin. Do I wait for that to possibly rupture and get that swabbed? Just not sure what is going on.

My beginning got cut: feeling hot in groin with some small white dots on scrotum and groin nothing noticeable on penis this is 2 weeks after unprotected sex. Felt the same thing 10 years ago tested and neg on hsv 2 antibody and high reading in hsv1.. symptoms gradually went away and I would feel occasional discomfort in area. Felt it again strongly 5 years ago did same thing antibody test hav 1 positive hsv2 negative.. have never had anything noticeable on penis other than a tiny circular skin break in one spot… these symptoms are same as those two incidents and come 2 weeks after vag sex. So trying to figure out if it’s a recurrence of gen hsv1 or missed hsv2 or new hsv2.. all aymptoms have been in same place over those 10 years.. I do feel now in groin like there is a elevated skin that is soft like fluid is under it.. all the other symptoms just seem like hot skin feeling…

I doubt that this is due to herpes but now that we have a better IgG test at LabCorp, you can feel confident getting an HSV antibody test. Not necessary to test for HSV 1 again. And I really don't think your symptoms sound herpetic, given what you've told me. If this happens again, you should consider seeing a clinician and getting any visible symptoms swab tested.
