I am female and have had HSV-2 for 10yrs+ (negative for HSV-1). I do not have outbreaks. I actually only ever had one outbreak, the initial outbreak but I do occasionally experience the "tingly" sensation. I am on Valacyclovir 500 MG tablets 1x/day. My partner is a circumcised male who is negative for Herpes. What does research say about the odds (% chance) of transmission for unprotected vs protected vaginal sex, as well as for oral sex? Additionally, are there any studies you can point me to that note these type of statistics? He is very concerned that I will transmit the virus to him so I am trying to understand the likely hood of the happening in our specific situation.
