Hi Doctor, following up to seek you advice in regards to the recent exposure( please do not delete)
My exposure was on December 27- penile insertive sex with condom, however few drops of oil was used in the end. Condom was not visibly broken, leaking or dint slipped.
December 30 - doctor advised prednisone for ear issue for next two weeks. 60mgx5 days and then taper 10 mg every other day. This lasted jan 13.
On december 12 - i took a HIV RNA PCR qualitative for HiV 1/2 and HIV 4th gen Ag/ab which were negative
My question-
prednisone is immuno suppression drug, so it can interact with HIV and delay viral infection(replication), is that true?
Do you think my HIV RNA PCR at day 16 is incorrect?
Does it have impact on testing?
Thank you Doctor. Please help me so i can put this episode to rest.

You are misinformed. Prednisone would not affect your HIV RNA PCR result or reliability. Your results show you were not infected.
No further responses. Believe your results. EWH
