Hi Doctor,
Question I currently live in Canada and had a pretty tramautic experience with one night stand I had met at a bar. Came to find out a week later that she works as an escort that offers bare blowjobs and sent me on a spiral. I have been tested extensively and have Anemia the Thalessemia kind. I tested negative for HIV and Syphillis at 43 days post exposure and 32 days with HIV being both 4th gen blood draws from vein combo test and for syphillis t palladium lgm/lga CMIA test sorry for butchering as well and that was non reactive as well. The encounter was unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal sex, I was the peneterative partner. do I need to do a final 12 week test? I also tested negative for chlamydia and gohnnerhea at 32 days from Urine samples

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your questions. I'll be glad to comment. Your thalessemia does not reduce the validity of your test results. The encounter that you describe was close to no risk for all STIs and virtually no risk for HIV. Your syphilis and HIV test results are conclusive, as are your results for gonorrhea and chlamydia. I see no need for continuing concern, nor do I see any need for further testing. I would move forward without concern. EWH---

Hi Doctor, sorry for the reopening of this despite sharing my opinion on a repeat test my family doctor is incessant on a final test because of the partners profession despite no symptoms. Not sure if I have to reopen another ticket for this apologies. Would love your opinion here.

No need for a repeat test at 12 weeks. Your 43 day 4th generation, combination HIV antigen/antibody test is conclusive. The results will not change. On the other hand, if you have an otherwise good relationship with your doctor, other than the inconvenience, I’m not sure this is worth fighting about. You can be confident that if retested the results will remain negative.
This will complete this thread, which will now be closed. Take care. EWH.
