Im sorry- i lost access to my account - so i purchased another question. My question is 13733….
Thank you for taking the time to reply. My exposure was 1/26. I have OCD which is why i am fixated on chlamydia. I have been vaccinated against hpv - and reading through the forum i understand stand hiv and syphilis . I have known my oral partner for many years. He says there is nothing to worry about, but i would just like to be safe.
Going back to my partner- you said it is unlikely that i would transmit a chlamydia infection to him from my oral cavity? Do you know why that is?
If chlamydia clears on its own amd i decide not to test- how long do you think it takes time to clear?
Can i engage in genital sex, if i dont use my mouth or saliva ?
If i came to your clinic what would be your advice?
I did call 2 urgent care facilities today and they inly perform urine testing.

This question is perplexing. The author of 13733 has a different user name and different screen name. As a result, I will ignore that post which Dr. Handsfield recently replied to and only address the questions which are part of this post.
Different bacteria, for poorly understood biological reasons, infect some site better than others. Chlamydia does not “ like” to infect the oral cavity. Further oral STIs, including chlamydia are rarely transmitted through oral sex even when present. As a result, transmission or acquisition of chlamydia through oral sex is rare.
Data on clearance of oral STIs in the absence therapy are very limited. It is estimated that two weeks after initial diagnosis of oral chlamydia can no longer be detected.
Oral infections only spread through oral, not genital contact.
Based on the limited information you have provided, it is very unlikely that you have chlamydia. I encourage you to put your concerns aside and move forward without concern. EWK

I appreciate your response. Knowing what you know- would you continue sexual relations with your significant other if you were in my shoes?
The ocd in me would ideally like to test, but i am having difficulty finding a place that does oral swabs. Why is it, that most places do not test orally? Is it due to the rare occurrence of oral infection?

I see no reason for you to abstain from unprotected sex with your regular partner from what you’ve said.
I have no idea why you’re having trouble getting an oral chlamydia test. You should be able to get one from a sexual health expert or STI clinic. EWH

Thank you for the replies. My last question is as follows- in the rare case that oral to penile transmission might be possible- does the penis need to come in contact with the back of the throat or just the mouth in general?

There are no scientific data to help answer your question. I would presume that transmission I’d gonorrhea or chlamydia can occur without direct contact with the back of the throat.
This is the final response as part of this thread. There should be no need for further questions. EWH
