This is another unfounded OCD driven question. HSV-2 is extraordinarily rare in the oral cavity. You are once again worrying needlessly.
Your OCD is getting the best of you. I urge you to seek proper care for it, not to cycle repeatedly with these questions about your low risk exposure. You are permitted two more follow ups. After that, the thread will be closed and there will be no further responses. Should you post additional questions, the thread may be closed without a reply and your posting fee will not be returned. We do this out of concern for you and no other reason. Please seek help. EWH

Dr. Hook,
Thank you for your concern. I intelligently know this is OCD manifesting. I am regretful of my choice and trying to figure out any statistical probably of contracting hsv2 from this exposure. He states he is clean, and has never had lesions, but i also read 90% of people that have hsv2 dont kbow it. You explaining that it is extremely rare is helpful.

I am trying my best to not let my ocd get the best of me. If hsv2 is exceedingly rare in the oral cavity, did Dr. HHH mean hsv1 when he said i had a theoretical risk of herpes? Ref# 13755

You are over reacting. There is also a theoretical risk that you will be struck by lightening today. That said, the risk of either is miniscule. You need to address your OCD. One follow-up remaining. EWH ---

Not trying to sound like an imbecile- what is the recurrence rate of oral hsv2? Im going to assume low since you do not see hsv2 commonly in the mouth- and if it was similar to that of hsv1 more people would have it? Including children? While i highly doubt i contracted oral hsv2 - the ocd gives me the what if monster - and that what if monster fears passing it on.

More OCD-driven, "what if", unanswerable questions. Oral HSV-2 is too rare to study recurrence rates. Clinical recurrences are too rare to meaningfully study.
This completes this thread. I've warned you before and will repeat, should you return with further OCD-driven, "what if questions regarding low risk events, your question may be deleted without a response and without return of your posting fee. You need to seek care for your OCD.
This thread is now complete. EWH
