[Question #13812] Dr. Hook HELP (part 2)

Dr. Hook,
Please read part 1 for summary.

The symptoms I had so far were a transient chest rash (lasted a few hours) diarrhea and night sweat.  My temperature never seems to have went over 99.2f.  Lastly I had one red mark on my chest two days prior to my last test.

I took your advice and had alere rapid 4th gen tests 22 days, 26 days and 30 days post risk.  All were negative.

Did these tests prove my symptoms weren’t Ars?

Can I go back to unprotected sex with my wife?

Can I stop testing?

Do I need hcv testing?

My risk was receiving 20 seconds of unprotected oral.

I feel like I should just calmly move on as you suggested.

Last question.  Did my tests rule out Ars caused by hiv 2 as well?

Thank you

Users don't have the option of selecting the moderator who responds to their question; we are assigned randomly. More important, these are repetitive questions whose answers are obvious in your thread three weeks ago and/or your earlier ones. Looking back at all of your threads -- this is your fifth -- most ask pretty much the same sorts of things, generally low risk and overemphasizing symptoms that mean nothing.

As emphasized in earlier threads, directly or indirectly, HIV test results always overrule symptoms:  it is not possible to have negative test results in the presence of symptoms caused by HIV. And you keep asking about symptoms that for the most part rarely point to HIV anyway.

There has never been a proved case of HIV from oral sex, i.e. by genital to penis transmission. And you describe sex partners almost certain not to have HIV.

No you have not been at risk for HCV.

Yes your test results prove HIV wasn't the cause of your symptoms. There is no difference in symptoms between ARS due to HIV2 vs HIV1; most tests detect infection with both virus types; and HIV2 is nearly absent in North America. From an HIV standpoint, there is no reason not to continue unprotected sex with your wife. And yes you "should just calmly move on" without worry about HIV; I'm glad that through all the "noise" you understand this!

You have been advised at least twice (maybe three times?) that repetitive questions may be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. You've been given a pass on the policy for the last time. Thank you for your understanding.

Dr. Handsfield,

Thanks for your clear response.  Today I woke up with a white sore / plaque on my inner cheek (in my mouth).  I scraped it off.  It didn’t bleed. This sore has me scared.

Should I be worried that it was thrush?

Can I just continue on with my life and not worry or be scared?

Can I continue unprotected sex with my wife as I had planned?

Thanks for your guidance.

No you should not worry about thrush. Neither HIV nor any STI can be the cause of such a thing. Continue with your life and unprotected sex with your wife.

That concludes this thread. You have been informed of the policy on repeated anxiety driven questions. Any more along these lines WILL be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. If you remain concerned, go back and read all our responses on all your threads. I also hope you will consider professional counseling for you obvious obsession with these issues. Good luck.
